MONTAVOCI LOOKING TO FINISH WITH BEST SEASON POINTS TALLY

Wednesday, 12 November: Foresti & Suardi has proved to be one of the most reliable outfits this season, with throttleman and team boss Giampaolo Montavoci looking to end the year with a flourish in Dubai. “I have two targets. To finish all the races and to take more than 60 points,” he said. “We will run with modified SCAM engines, new propellers and a different exhaust system, with the complete package put together to give us better acceleration. But of course running a new set-up comes with a little risk.”
In their first full season together, Montavoci and Norwegian driver, Kolbjorn Selmer, have finished fifth four times, sixth once and took their best result of the year, fourth place, in the last race in Porto Marina, Egypt. “I raced with Kolbjorn for the first time in Egypt last year and I am really impressed with how he has developed as a driver. I have raced with many different drivers, but he simply gets better and better each time we go out. Not many are able to do that.”
The Italian-Norwegian pairing are currently lying sixth in the World Championship standings, 14 points behind Jotun, and fourth equal in the Middle East Championship with Negotiator, but aim to end the season as the best placed European outfit.
